Training CLP classification & labelling of mixtures
Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) on the classification, labelling & packaging of chemicals applies to all substances and mixtures placed on the EU market. Through occupational health legislation in many countries, CLP labelling also applies to containers etc in the workplace.
In 2023 new hazard classes were introduced, and in 2024 some classification principles have changed. All suppliers of mixtures, and users of chemicals preparing internal mixtures must (re)classify and label treir mixtures according to CLP.
The training course is aimed at those responsible for mixture classification/workplace labelling. The course leader is Erwin Theelen who has many years of experience with CLP classification in industry and the Dutch REACH & CLP helpdesk. The objective is to learn the basics of mixture classification & labelling under CLP (EU-GHS).

Program (1 day)
REACH & CLP introduction:
- roles, obligations & substance lists
- safety data sheets, information sources (interpreting info in ECHA databases) & harmonised classification
Calculation methods & (general vs. specific) concentration limits:
- classification of mixtures for CMR, sensitisation, STOT & aspiration tox
- classification of mixtures for environmental & other health hazards (using cut-off values)
- practice with calculations/ using calculation rules
CLP labelling in short:
- new requirements for labels (size, information, P-statements)
Note that there is a seperate training course focussing on (only) labelling of chemicals.

Course prices 2026 (full-day courses*)
- In-company at your location (in the EU): € 1545 (max. 15 participants), or Online: € 1345 (max. 10 participants)
- Open courses: Online: € 456

Terms and conditions
- Training courses have to be booked via our website. Bookings are only final after our confirmation via email.
- Most courses are 1-day courses, online courses are split into tho half days (on different dates)
- Prices are in Euro excluding VAT, and excluding travel expenses for in-company courses outside the Netherlands
- 10% discount for max. 4 people in-company, for multiple courses/days or if multiple people from the same organisation are taking the course. The discount only applies to regular courses shown on the website (not for tailored courses)
- 40% discount on half-day courses
- The invoice will be sent as a PDF after the course, payment is due within 14 days of the invoice date.
- One hour of consulting/implementation support (within 3 months after the course) is included
- If cancelled 31 – 14 days before the start of the course, 25% of the course price will be charged. If cancelled less than 14 days (and if participants do not show up for the start of the course), the full course price will be charged.
- If the course date (course at your place) is changed later than 7 days before the start of the course, 10% of the course fee will be charged.
- Course materials are the property of Tenviro and may not be copied or stored in a search system (published) for a third party.
- Training courses focus on the most important rules; not all rules, exemptions, or situations can be discussed in a single training. A training lays a foundation, participants must gain experience by applying what they have learned, verifying results against the rules and guidelines, and through discussions with others. Up to three months after the training, there is an opportunity for a free hour of implementation advice/ sparring.
- Tenviro is not liable for direct or indirect damage in connection with the course/information obtained via Tenviro or its tools, such as due to loss of profit, loss or other consequential damage, including any liability to third parties or loss of information, unless this damage is the result of intent or gross negligence on the part of Tenviro; any liability is then limited to the course fee.
